This recipe is a protein-rich drink which is smoothing for Vata. This is also great for building Ojas the energetic fuel for spiritual transformation. Accompanied by a date paste jam you will be feeling divinely nourished.

  • 1 cup almonds, blanched*
  • 3-4 cups filtered water
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 2 Madjool date
  • 1 tsp coconut oil or ghee

1. Blend whole almonds and water for 1 min.

2. Using a sieve drain the milk liquid into a nut milk bag and keep the almond pulp separately on the side to use for an almond spread.

3. Pour liquid back into the blender and add powdered cardamom and pitted dates.

4. Blend until smooth and well mixed and add in the ghee or coconut oil into milk & blend again if needed.

5. Enjoy!

How to blanch the almonds: After soaking the almonds overnight drain them and add them in a heat-proof container. Next, pour boiling hot water over the almonds to cover and hear the almonds "pop" out of their skins. After a minute drain the hot water and then pour on cold water. The skins will easily peel off the almonds.

  • 2 cups Almond milk or goats milk​
  • 1 pinch nutmeg​
  • 1/2 tsp fennel seed powder​
  • 1 pinch cardamom powder​
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder​
  • 1/2 tsp coconut oil​
  • 1 tsp maple syrup​

INSTRUCTIONS


INSTRUCTIONS


1. Warm the milk with spices for 8 minutes of simmering. Pour the milky liquid into the blender and add maple syrup or date.

2. Blend until smooth and well mixed. Then add to your favorite cup, place the teaspoon of coconut oil on top.

3. Serve warm.
