Beetroot Sunflower Spread

Amrita Ma Devi

This vibrant Beetroot Sunflower Spread is more than just a delicious breakfast treat; it's an Ayurvedic powerhouse! Dive into the goodness:

Ayurvedic Benefits:

Beetroot's Power: Beetroot, with its earthy sweetness and deep red colour, possesses grounding tamasa guna (inertia) qualities. Cooked beetroot becomes more sattvic (lightness and purity), making it easier to digest, especially for Vata and Kapha doshas.

Sunflower Seeds: These little seeds, packed with healthy fats and protein, provide a balancing satvic influence, promoting satiety and supporting a balanced metabolism for all doshas.

A Touch of Sunshine: Depending on your dominant dosha, consider incorporating spices to further enhance the spread's impact:

Vata: Add a pinch of warming spices like cumin or coriander to further stimulate digestion.

Pitta: Opt for cooling ingredients like fresh mint or a touch of lemon juice to balance the heat of Pitta dosha.

Kapha: Consider a sprinkle of warming spices like ginger or black pepper to stimulate Kapha's sluggish tendencies.

Enjoyment Tips:

Spread it on whole-wheat toast, pita bread, or raw vegetables for a satisfying and nutritious start to your day.

For a Kapha-balancing twist, pair it with sliced cucumbers or celery sticks.

Vata doshas can benefit from pairing it with a warm cup of ginger tea.

More than just a Spread:

This beetroot sunflower spread is a vibrant example of how Ayurvedic principles can add a whole new dimension to your meals. By understanding the qualities of ingredients, you can create delicious dishes that nourish your body and mind in harmony.
