Celery, Apple, Cucumber, Lemon Smoothie

Amrita Ma Devi

Celery, when placed in a smoothie, can be quite fibrous, So I find it best to blend it first with water and then sieve those parts out. Keeping the slightly salty, celery juice for the smoothie base. The younger the celery the less fiber it will have, so go for baby celery or the young leaves at the center and leave outer leaf for sauces and soups. Celery is loaded with antioxidants, which combat inflammation and help fight off infection. Celery has diuretic properties which help to flush out toxins from the liver and promote kidney health. Both the cucumber and celery in this drink will eliminate water retention and help boost digestion. Best drunk before you eat your main meal. You can use either a blender or juicer, for this method we used a blender, skip the 2nd part if you use the juicer.
