Tamas is associated with foods that are stale, over-processed, or non-plant-based, leading to lethargy and dullness. - 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
- 1/4 tsp cumin powder
- ½ tsp zaatar (optional)
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh herbs (e.g., cilantro or parsley)
- 1 small green chili, finely chopped (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp avocado oil (for cooking)
For the Toppings:
- 1 ripe avocado, sliced
- 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
- 1 cup arugula
- 1/4 cup marinated artichoke hearts, chopped
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Juice of 1/2 lemon
- Salt and pepper to taste

1. Prepare the Chickpea Flour Omelette Batter:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the chickpea flour, water, turmeric powder, cumin powder, chopped herbs, and green chilli (if using for kapha).
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Whisk the mixture until smooth and there are no lumps.
2. Cook the Omelette:
- Heat the olive oil in a non-stick pan over medium heat.
- Pour 1/4 cup of chickpea flour batter into the pan, spreading it evenly to form a thin layer.
- Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side until the edges start to lift and the bottom is golden brown.
- Flip the omelette carefully and cook for another 2-3 minutes on the other side until fully cooked.
3. Prepare the Salad:
- In a bowl, combine the cherry tomatoes, arugula, and marinated artichoke hearts.
- Drizzle with olive oil and lemon juice.
- Season with salt and pepper, then toss to combine.
4. Assemble the Plate:
- Slide the chickpea flour omelette onto a plate.
- Arrange the sliced avocado on one side of the omelette.
- Place the arugula salad on the other side.
- Serve immediately and enjoy your healthy and delicious meal!

- Vata: The grounding and nourishing qualities of chickpeas can help balance Vata dosha, especially when cooked with warming spices and a drizzle of extra virgin olive oil.
- Pitta: The dish can be suitable for Pitta, especially if not overly spicy.
- Kapha: Chickpeas can be heavy for Kapha, so serving it with green peppers, light and bitter greens like arugula helps balance the heaviness.
