Earthy Buckwheat Turmeric Milk

Buckwheat is packed with all nine essential amino acids that must come from the diet. It is particularly rich in Lysine and Arginine, which contribute to protein synthesis, hormone and enzyme production and immune function. Tryptophan is also an essential part of the buckwheat protein content, as it can help to raise positive mood and lower anxiety. In addition, buckwheat is also high in minerals such as Manganese, Copper, Magnesium, Iron and Zinc, all of which are essential for healthy metabolism, growth, development, and antioxidant defences.

Vata and Kapha pacifying is fairly heavy, so it can be used to replace a meal. If your going to drink it, and you like that thickness, use 2 tbsp of groats. Buckwheat is heating and drying, so Vata can add a spoonful of consider using coconut oil. This delicious drink is ideal for anyone trying to balance Kapha dosha and reduce mucus with its drying effect. Kapha dosha doesn’t need to be shy with those spices this season.
