Amrita Ma Devi
Releasing oneself from the past is a challenging task. Whether it’s a previous relationship or an error committed, the fear of getting hurt once more can hinder us from placing our faith in others. Nevertheless, clinging onto these negative emotions and experiences can deprive us of the pleasurable moments in life. It’s high time to relinquish these burdens and rekindle trust.
Ayurveda provides numerous mindfulness-boosting practices called achara rasayana or behavioral rejuvenation. These remedies aim to bring inner peace, serenity, and a clear mind to individuals struggling with emotional turmoil. In this blog I hope to establish sattva, which signifies harmony, calmness, and clarity in a distressed mind back to peace without ignoring the truth of your emotions.
1. Acknowledge your feelings
Before you can move on, you need to acknowledge your feelings. It’s okay to feel hurt and betrayed. Don’t ignore these emotions or try to push them away. Instead, allow yourself to feel them and work through them.
2. Practice mindfulness
Mindfulness can help you stay present in the moment and reduce anxiety. Start by taking deep breaths and focusing on your surroundings. Notice the sounds, smells, and textures around you.
3. Focus on what you can control
You can’t control everything that happens to you, but you can control your reaction to it. Focus on what you can control, such as your thoughts and actions. Right daily routine or Dinacharya is an important behavioral rasyana.
4. Forgive yourself
We all make mistakes. Forgive yourself for past mistakes and move forward. Don’t let these mistakes define you.
5. Surround yourself with positivity
Surround yourself with positive people and activities that bring you joy. This will help you focus on the good things in life and let go of the negative.
6. Practice self-care
Take care of yourself both physically and mentally. Exercise, eat healthy foods, and take time for yourself. This will help you feel better overall and reduce stress.
7. Seek professional help and support
If you’re struggling to let go, consider seeking professional help. A therapist or counselor can help you work through your emotions and develop the skills that help you to cope.
8. Let go of the past
The past is in the past. You can’t change it, but you can learn from it. Let go of past hurts and mistakes and focus on the present moment is all we have. We can remember what has happened in the past, but allowing it to destroy your future is wasteful of the precious gift of life.
8. Take small steps
Letting go and trusting again takes time. Take small steps towards your goal and don’t expect it to happen overnight. Celebrate your progress, no matter how small. Achieving the ability to trust again and releasing control requires patience. Progress towards your objective in small steps and avoid expecting immediate results. Acknowledge and celebrate your advancements, even if they seem insignificant.
Remember, letting go and trusting again is a process. It won’t happen overnight, but with time and effort, it is possible. Use these tips to help you let go of the past and trust again. The future is bright, and it’s waiting for you.
